Our Work

Temple Baptist Church

The original HVAC units were installed as the sanctuary was constructed over 30 years ago and had become a burden on the church to try to maintain and keep operational. They contracted with Steven Hutton Architect and Holston Engineering to try to figure out how to change out these units that were installed so many years ago above a sloped acoustical ceiling over a stair stepped balcony. They decided two (2) new 25 ton packaged high efficiency air conditioning units with natural gas heat and hot gas bypass humidity control were the answer and put it out for bids. S. B. White was up to the challenge and turned in the low bid. We had to build platforms above the existing ceilings and put up dust control curtains so we could work during the week and the church could continue to have service in the sanctuary on weekends. We cut up the old units in pieces and used an electric hoist to lower them down and out of the ceiling. We welded in and installed new steel support frames off the existing building steel that protruded through the existing roof to support the new RTUs. We installed the new Trane units and connected the ductwork underneath all in under 8 weeks and without the church missing a single service.
