S. B. White Company was selected to join the construction team for an exciting new project in Kingsport. We partnered with J. A. Street & Associates to convert the old AEP (American Electric Power) Building in downtown Kingsport into a state of the art new corporate office for TriSummit Bank, now Hometrust Bank. The project required extensive renovation and restoration of the existing three story structure as well as an addition that will include an elevator for handicapped accessibility. A new stand alone drive-through was also  added. Once complete, the building provided TriSummit Bank with over 22000 square feet of office space. The new HVAC system is an energy efficient conventional water source heat pump system with associated boiler, pumps, and closed circuit cooler. A new direct digital control system was furnished and installed by Johnson Controls to control the HVAC equipment and further enhance the energy efficiency of the system. All of the old plumbing was removed from the building and replaced as part of this project as well. It was a challenging and exciting project for us. It is much more rewarding to finish restoring an old structure to new glory than it is to just tear it down and build something new.
